Expressive paintings embody the concepts of identity and memory in “Riyadh Art Week”

The Saudi plastic artist Jassim Al -Damen – in the framework of the activities of the “Riyadh Art Week”, organized by the Visual Arts Authority in the capital, Riyadh – will participate in a group of his artistic works that deal with the concepts of identity, memory and community transformations, in a contemporary visual style that combines symbolism and abstraction.
The guarantor displays a group of his paintings belonging to the style of expressive drawing, and deals with topics related to identity, memory, and belonging, using the elements of color, line and composition to communicate his artistic vision.

The artist Jassim Al -Damen said that his participation in the “Riyadh Art Week” is an important station in his artistic career, as the event allowed him to interact with a wide audience of artists and connoisseurs of contemporary visual experiences.

Contemporary visual experiences

He pointed out that “Riyadh Art Week” in its first edition showed a success, pointing outly from the organizational point of view and attracting interested and connoisseurs of art, and that the establishment of his exhibition within this distinguished event added a qualitative dimension to his experience, and contributed to interacting with a conscious and varied audience, which earned him a new experience in his own way.

He indicated that this exhibition represents the culmination of its artistic journey during the past years, through which it reviews different stages of his work, starting with meditation in personal memory, to work on community transformations through the language of art.
It is noteworthy that the actual start of the artist was in 2009, through his participation in the competition of young artists organized by the Society of Culture and Arts in Dammam, and held his first personal exhibition in 2014 under the title “Hope” in the desert heritage Gallery in Al -Khobar, which represented an important station in his career, after which he continued to participate in a number of group exhibitions and developed his experience through self -learning and continuous experimentation.
This participation comes within the activities of “Riyadh Art Week 2025”, which includes more than 50 entities and an international artistic institution, and aims to empower artists, enhance artistic presence, and provide contemporary visual experiences that contribute to enriching the cultural scene in the Kingdom.
