The start of the activities of the first Qassim Family Medicine Conference

Today, the activities of the first Qassim Family Medicine Conference, organized by the Saudi Family Medicine Association in Buraidah, were launched with the participation of a group of speakers and experts in the field of family medicine from various regions of the Kingdom, and it will continue for two days, including various scientific programs and discussion sessions that highlight the developments of this vital specialization. The Consultant of Family Medicine and Mental Health Fellow, and the Vice -President of the Saudi Family Medicine Association in the Qassim region, confirmed Dr. Tamim Al -Hamid, during his opening speech, that the conference comes within the framework of the association’s keenness to support and enhance the position of family medicine as a basic pillar in the primary health care system, and to raise awareness of the importance of the role of the family doctor in improving the quality of health services and achieving the efficiency of the health system in line with the targets of the national transformation in the health sector, while this conference is an important step to enhance the role of family medicine, by supporting medical practices based on evidence, and stimulating cooperation between health sectors And educational to serve the health of society.

The first executive director of governance and transformation in the cooperative for insurance and a member of the Board of Directors of the Mina Health Company, Dr. Hadi Al -Anzi, discussed during the conference the most prominent health transformation programs in the private sector based on the concepts of primary health care and population health, stressing that family medicine represents a real nucleus of health transformation in the Kingdom.

On the one hand, the Consultant of Preventive Medicine and Executive Director of Compliance and Data in the Security Council, Dr. Nawaf Al -Bali, spoke about the role of digital transformation in improving health care services, while the commander of sleep medicine at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Manea Al -Shahrani, presented a presentation in which he dealt with sleep disturbances as one of the most prominent health challenges affecting the quality of life.

Dr. Nibras Abu Al -Hamael, Director of the Health Insurance Council at the Health Insurance Council, shed light on the workshop on the initial health care houses in the application of population health management programs, stressing the importance of enabling health practitioners in family medicine clinics to play an effective preventive and proactive role.

A consultant family medicine and health medicine, Dr. Ghada Al -Youssef, also talked about women’s procedures in primary health care, while Dr. Muhammad Al -Ghashm reviewed the consultant of infectious diseases at the Qassim Health Assembly, the optimal use of antibiotics in primary care clinics.

The Dean of the College of Medicine at the Qassim University, Dr. Humaidan Al -Humaidan, stressed that the conference constitutes a leading scientific platform aimed at enhancing the health of the individual and society by reviewing the latest developments in the specialty of family medicine with the participation of a group of speakers at the Kingdom level.

The conference witnessed the implementation of practical training on a number of simple medical procedures presented by Dr. Amal Al -Qarni, a family medicine consultant who has the Saudi and Arab Board from the Saudi Aramco Hospital in Dhahran.

More than 30 speakers will participate in the conference, as researchers review during scientific sessions more than 60 studies and research specialized in the field of family medicine, as well as the participation of 20 health and educational bodies in the accompanying exhibition, which provides the most prominent modern innovations and practices associated with family medicine.
