The World Council for Tolerance and Peace participates in the World Summit

Seoul, April 12 / WAM / His Excellency Ahmed bin Muhammad Al -Jarwan, Chairman of the World Council for Tolerance and Peace, participated in the World Peace Union Summit held in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
His Excellency delivered a speech at the second plenary session of the Asia -Pacific Forum as part of the summit activities held under the slogan “Contemporary Challenges of the World order: Towards a new era of peace and prosperity.”
In his speech, Al -Jarwan stressed the importance of restoring human and moral values as a pillar to rebuild confidence in the global system, stressing that the World Council for Tolerance and Peace is working through its institutions to address hate speeches and enhance the culture of tolerance through legislation, education and international cooperation.
He called for an international alliance based on the values of social justice, transparency and sustainable development, referring to the council’s initiatives, such as the Master’s Program in Tolerance and Peace Studies, the Council of Religious Leaders, and the World Peace Charter.
He stressed the need to respect international law, calling for the accountability of countries that violate international covenants, and to a unified international position that restores the balance of the world order.
In the context of his talk about international issues, His Excellency singled out the tragedy of the Gaza Strip with great interest, and considered the siege, killing and destruction of the Palestinian people to “a clear violation of all international customs and covenants,” stressing the importance of implementing the relevant United Nations resolutions, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
His Excellency concluded his speech by emphasizing that peace and tolerance are no longer an option but rather a necessity, saying: “Hate does not build a homeland, does not achieve security, does not make a sustainable economy, and that peace is not a luxury, but rather a basic condition for any real prosperity.”
He called on the international community to transform the discourse of tolerance into realistic policies and institutional practices in order to build a more stable and human future.
