Amid the pressure and “military” concerns and concerns … Tehran and Washington are conducting direct nuclear talks

The United States and Iran, amid great pressure, start talks on Tehran’s nuclear program on Saturday in the Omani capital, Muscat, with Donald Trump threatening military action if failing to reach a new deal.
These talks will be the highest level in this regard since US President Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program in 2018 during his first term.
It is expected that Trump’s envoy to the Middle East will lead Steve Witkov, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji will meet the meetings behind closed doors in Muscat.

The arrival of the Iranian delegation

Iranian public television stated that the Iranian delegation arrived on Saturday morning in Muscat, noting that Araqji met Omani officials. The Iranian official news agency (IRNA) stated that he discussed with his Omani counterpart Badr bin Hamad Al -Busaidi arrangements “conducting indirect talks with the United States.”
Hours ago, the talks said, US President Donald Trump, Friday, told journalists on the US President “Air Force One”, “I want Iran to be a great, great and happy country. But they cannot own a nuclear weapon,”
Ali Shamkhani, Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stressed on Friday that Iran is looking for a “realistic and just” agreement with the United States, adding that “important and applicable proposals are ready.”
He added on the X platform that if Washington shows goodwill, the next road “will be easy.”
In an indication of the spacing between the two sides, the formula of talks has not been confirmed yet, as the United States described it as direct, while Iran insists on the presence of an intermediary.
On Friday, the White House insisted that the talks would be direct.
“These will be direct talks with the Iranians, I want this to be completely clear,” US presidential spokeswoman Caroline Levitte told reporters.
For its part, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that the two delegations are showing indirect talks after a meeting with the Omani Foreign Minister. The agency explained that the talks are expected to start in the afternoon, provided that Al -Busaidi is a mediator in it.
It is not yet clear if the talks will be limited to Saturday.
Trump suddenly announced the talks a few days ago during an interview with two journalists at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
