World Health announces an international agreement to confront epidemics

The World Health Organization announced that its members have reached an agreement to prepare the world to confront epidemics after more than three years of discussions.
This legally binding agreement aims to strengthen the world’s defenses against new pathogens, after the Korona -19 pandemic claimed the lives of millions of people during the period 2020-2022.
The agreement defines measures to prevent future epidemics and promote global cooperation, and this includes the establishment of a system to reach pathogens, share their benefits, and build various research capabilities geographically from among other things.
The agreement also proposes the creation of a global network of supply and logistical services with a focus on enhancing the elasticity and willingness of the health system.
The organization said in a statement: “After more than three years of intensive discussions, the World Health Organization’s member states have made a big step forward in efforts to make the world safer than epidemics,” the organization said in a statement.
She added that the agreement defines measures to prevent future epidemics and global cooperation in responding to the outbreaks of epidemics.
The agreement is seen as a victory for the World Health Organization, at a time when multilateral organizations, such as the World Health Organization, were severely affected by the sharp cuts in American foreign financing.
It should be noted that the issue of future epidemics has formed an increasing global focus since the Corona crisis has declined, amid calls to unify international efforts on research financing, and to provide effective mechanisms to deliver vaccines and medical supplies to areas where serious epidemics are repeated.
The negotiations have faced complex challenges, especially with regard to financing issues, technology exchange, and the distribution of medicines fairly.
