Italian Minister of Health visits the “Specialist” and sees the programs of cardiology and organ transplantation

His Excellency the Italian Minister of Health Orangeus Skillatchi visited King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, to see the most prominent fields of medical excellence in the hospital, and to know the Saudi experience in developing specialized health care. His Excellency, Executive Vice President of the Hospital Dr. Bjorn Zwiga, was reviewed during the visit to provide a comprehensive presentation of the Center for Excellence for Cardiology, and the Excellence Center and the Excellence Center For organ transplants, in addition to highlighting the latest techniques used in the treatment of complex heart disease, slight robotic surgery techniques, which contributed to reducing complications, accelerating recovery, and reducing costs.

This visit comes within the framework of the increasing interest in global health leaders in the pioneering model offered by the “Specialist”, in the merger between clinical experience and modern technologies, after a series of qualitative achievements, the most prominent of which is the first complex heart and liver transplant processing using robots in the world, which strengthened the hospital’s status an international reference in specialized health care.

It is noteworthy that the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center was the first class in the Middle East, Africa and 15 globally in the list of the best 250 academic health care institutions around the world for the year 2025, and the highest valuable health brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to “Brand Finance” for 2024, and was included in the list of the best smart hospitals in the world for the year 2025 by the magazine Newsweek.
