Southern Koreans commemorate the sinking of the phrase “Seoul”

Dozens of Koreans gathered yesterday at the waves barrier in the port of Gindo, two days before the 11th anniversary of the sinking of the phrase “Seoul”.

Visitors stopped at a memorial in the form of a yellow tape, a red lighthouse coated with yellow ribbons, under the sky of clouds and strong winds.

The site, which has now become a memorial place, carried clear signs, and yellow flags were fluttering saying “We will not forget”, and a sign was erected indicating the place of the ship drowning, and Kim Dong Won (33 years) stood from Seoul, silent for more than five minutes in front of the sign, staring at the sea.

Kim said: “I came last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary, and I took a vacation from my work again this year, and I want the families to know that there are people who did not forget.” In the vicinity, visitors flocked to the Pinguek Memorial Hall, a modest exhibition hall, displaying pictures and souvenirs of the 304 victims who died in 2014, and many raised in silence, and stood in front of the pictures for a long time.

Yun U Jin, 51, wiped her tears as she was written carefully at the visitors’ book, and visitors flocked to the chassis of the ship “Seoul”, which is located in the new Mukboboa port, where it settled since its recovery.
