The UAE welcomes the joint statement on Sudan and affirms its support for efforts aimed at a permanent ceasefire

The UAE welcomed the joint statement on Sudan, and its affirmation of the collective commitment to support a peaceful, democratic and stable path that reflects the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people.

The UAE praised the international and regional efforts made, including the outcomes of the Berlin Conference, and the calls aimed at ending the war and launching a comprehensive, civilian-led political process.

The UAE affirmed its full support for all efforts aimed at reaching a humanitarian truce and a permanent ceasefire, and putting an end to human suffering, ensuring the protection of civilians and the arrival of humanitarian aid.

The UAE welcomed the efforts of the Five-Year Mechanism to support a comprehensive political process and hold consultations in Addis Ababa during the period from June 3 to 5 to move forward towards establishing the proposed preparatory committee for the comprehensive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue.

The UAE also reiterated its emphasis on the importance of giving priority to political solutions, and supporting a comprehensive and independent civil transition process that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people towards security, stability and a decent life.
