Iran suits 4 countries before the International Court of Justice

Iran today, Thursday, filed a complaint with the International Court of Justice against Canada, Sweden, Ukraine and Britain, as part of the appeal of a decision of the United Nations Aviation Authority regarding the shooting down of a passenger plane in 2020.
The Ukrainian International Airlines plane and the Boeing 737-800 was carrying passengers with the nationalities of the four countries when it was shot down after its takeoff from Tehran on January 8, 2020, and 176 people were killed in the incident.
Three days after that, Iran acknowledged that its forces targeted the BS 752 flight, which was heading to Kiev with a land-to-air missile.

Military error

At the time, he said in a statement to the Iranian forces that the Ukrainian plane was injured “due to a human error as a result of its approach to one of the sensitive centers.”
The complaint comes in appeal by a decision issued in March, the “International Civil Aviation Organization” in the case.
The United Nations -based United Nations Organization considered that it is within the jurisdiction of the case that the four countries against Iran advanced and accused Tehran of “using weapons against a civilian plane during its flight.”
Iran has resorted to the International Court of Justice in an effort to issue a ruling that the case is not within the jurisdiction of the International Civil Aviation Organization and thus canceling its decision.
The Iranian air defenses were at maximum alert in favor of an anti -American attack in response to Iran’s missiles at a military base in Iraq used by American forces.
According to the Iranian forces, the United States threatened to “hit 52 points in Iran.”
