High temperatures shrink the Arctic ice to the least historical space
The Japanese space exploration agency “Jacqua” announced that the maximum ice cover in the Northern Ocean is the youngest ever in the current year for more than 4 decades, which represents a record record of a newer number from the number 8 years ago.
Snow cover
According to scientists at the Agency and the Japanese National Institute of Antarctic Research, the Japanese satellite “Shizuko” used ice control in the Arctic, as the measurements showed that this year’s ice cover reached the maximum of 13.79 million square kilometers on March 20, 2025.
The number is 130 thousand square kilometers when compared to the previous record recorded in 2017, which is the youngest ever based on the data available from 1979.
Ice space line
A map presented by the report showed that the ice area in 2017 was much lower than the levels of 2012, and the average in the second decade of the twenty -first century, and it was found that the ice area in 2025 was smaller until 2017.
While the 2017 rates were the lowest, the ice area in 2025 was 130 thousand square kilometers less, to become the smallest since 1979.
The head of the Japanese space exploration agency, Yamakawa Hiroshi, said that it is related to climate change, and it is feared that this will affect the weather and the marine environment.
