"Sharjah Reading Festival for Children" Tomorrow is launched with more than a thousand varied activities

Sharjah, April 22 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and the directives of his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, will start tomorrow the activities of the 16th session of the “Sharjah Reading Festival” in the “Expo Center Sharjah” organized by the “Sharjah Book Authority” under the slogan “To overwhelm books” where The festival’s activities extend over 12 days to May 4, 2025.

The program for the current year of the festival includes 1024 artistic and entertainment events provided by 133 guests from 70 countries, along with 43 writers from the United Arab Emirates, the Arab world, and 30 international writers and painters, bringing the total participants to more than 200 experts and specialists from writers, thinkers, painters and Emirati academics, Arabs and internationals.

122 publishing houses from 22 countries will participate in the festival, and the organization of 35 discussion sessions will witness the culture of attendance and deal with the reality of publishing in general and in the field of children’s literature in particular, in addition to discussing ways to encourage the habit of reading and overcome the challenges of the book industry in the region and the world in addition to a mobile exhibition, plays and free and paid workshops.

The festival’s activities include more than 600 workshops directed to children, Al -Yafaa and adults, in addition to 85 interactive cooking workshops and more than 30 live cooking shows provided by the most famous chefs from the region and the world and more than 150 workshops and effective workshops in the “parking corner” aimed at developing their capabilities and talents in the fields of narrative narration, science, arts, handicrafts, music, creative thinking and technology.

The new session of this year includes the “Sherlock Holmes Competition”, where the “Sharjah Reading Festival for Children” turns into an exciting playground from the Victorian era with an area of ​​10,000 square feet, which is ambiguous, science and conclusion.

The “Future Makers Museum” collects scientific exploration with interactive fun in a stimulating environment for the imagination of children through interesting adventures that include excavation of dinosaurs, driving mechanical machines, operating huge machines, and firing missiles.

The festival program includes 85 theatrical and mobile shows and a wide range of musical and scientific performances that enrich the experience of visitors of all ages, including “Science Street”, and exciting scientific experiences alongside “the golden generation … a musical evening with the choir of the spirit of the East.”

Among the performances of the festival are “magic in the atmosphere” with the French talented Philipj Bogard, the “Ganendia” show, the “Airfoot Warx” band, the “robots”, “Marti Potz”, “The Natkins”, “The Badel Dax”, “Master and Nudland”, and “wonders of the winged”, as well as the festival characters that will be presented Jawala offers in the festival’s halls and lounges.
