Hamdan bin Mohammed witnesses the launch of the first doctorate in artificial intelligence in Dubai

Dubai April 22 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Foundation for the Future, during the activities of the “Dubai AI Week” the launch of the University of Birmingham Dubai for the first doctoral program in artificial intelligence in Dubai.
His Highness said that this initiative will constitute a prominent addition to the academic sector in the UAE and an incentive for all academic institutions to provide specialized programs and keep pace with the latest scientific orientations.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum added: The academic sector contributes an important role in achieving our vision for the future, and its role is the most important in preparing talents and experiences to lead the march of digital transformation and the future industry.
The launch of the University of Birmingham Dubai for the first doctoral program in artificial intelligence in Dubai, along with His Highness, His Excellency Omar Sultan Al -Ulama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and remote work techniques, Deputy Managing Director of the Dubai Future Foundation.
This new program launched by the University of Birmingham Dubai contributes to preparing specialized competencies in various areas of artificial intelligence, such as developing smart cities, advanced health care, sustainability and future mobility, which is one of the pillars of digital transformation in Dubai.
The program also supports the achievement of various national strategies aimed at developing the education sector by focusing on artificial intelligence, and preparing academic competencies that are able to know knowledge, experience, future thinking skills and innovative approach.
Through this program, the University of Birmingham Dubai will contribute to supporting the innovation system in the UAE, and exchanging experiences with government agencies, private companies and other academic institutions in the UAE and abroad.
The program includes various fields and specialties such as artificial intelligence in medicine and health care, natural language treatment, computer vision, artificial intelligence ethics, and interpretative and reliable artificial intelligence.
An advanced training in scientific research skills will be provided for the participants in the program under the supervision of a group of academics, in addition to opportunities to reach the latest artificial intelligence laboratories, innovation incubators and participation in international conferences.
It is worth noting that the University of Birmingham is among the best 100 universities in the world, and through the launch of this program, it aims to prepare researchers who are able to find solutions to major challenges in society through artificial intelligence.
