المملكة: The King orders the appointment of Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud -may God support him -was issued, based on what was presented by His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister -may God protect him -by appointing His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Chairman of the King Abdullah University Secretaries for Science and Technology “Kaost”.
This appointment is to confirm the strategic role played by “Kaost” in strengthening the research, development and innovation system, especially in the vital areas of the future of the Kingdom, such as: energy, sustainability, and technical progress.
“Kaost”, headed by His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, is preparing to enhance its position as a global center for scientific excellence and transformational innovation.
His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman has extensive experience in the energy and sustainability sector, as it played a pivotal role in formulating and implementing policies that support the shift towards clean energy and enhance innovation in this field.
This appointment will be an important step to push the strategy of the “accelerated impact” adopted by “Kaost”; In order to accelerate the pace of scientific research, and link its outputs to industrial and technical applications, in line with the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, and this appointment reflects the highlight of research efforts made by the Kingdom to address environmental and climatic challenges, enhance the uses of renewable energy, and achieve the goal of reaching zero neutrality through the research that the university is working on.
