Al-Nasr is crowned champion of the Youth Basketball League

Dubai, April 15 / WAM / Al-Nasr team was crowned champion of the Youth Basketball League for the 2025-2026 season, after defeating Al-Wasl with a score of 65-61 in the final match that brought them together today at the Rashid Bin Hamdan Hall in Al-Nasr Club.
Al-Nasr imposed its advantage for most of the match, after finishing the first half leading 37-28, before succeeding in maintaining its lead during the second half despite Al-Wasl’s attempts to reduce the gap in the last moments.
In the third place match, Al Jazira defeated Sharjah 74-70, winning the bronze medal.
Following the conclusion of the competitions, Salem Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Emirates Basketball Federation, accompanied by members of the Board of Directors of the Federation and Al Nasr Club, crowned Al Nasr players with the championship shield and gold medals, and Al Wasl players with silver medals.
Hussein Al Balushi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Basketball Federation, confirmed that the conclusion of the Youth League represents an extension of a successful season full of championships, pointing out that the competitions reflected an advanced technical level, and the presence of promising elements capable of supporting the national teams in the future, in light of the plans to develop the age stages supervised by the technical director, Dr. Munir bin Al-Habib.
For his part, Mohammed Matar Al-Jumairi, a member of the Board of Directors of Al-Nasr Sports Company, explained that the coronation was a natural result of the efforts of the players and the technical staff throughout the season, in light of the continuous administrative support and continuous follow-up of the basketball team.
In turn, Adel Saqr, the technical director of Al-Nasr’s senior stage teams, pointed out that the achievement reflects the organized work within the club, stressing that the next stage will witness the promotion of a number of young talents to the first team, within a strategic plan aimed at sustaining success, pointing out that the club’s teams recorded a strong presence this season despite the lack of success in some finals.
Saqr stressed his confidence in the teams’ ability to achieve better results in the future, while continuing to work according to a clear approach that enhances the chances of competing for titles.
While Hassan Al-Shaiba, Al-Nasr player, expressed his happiness at the coronation, praising the strong level of the Al-Wasl team, stressing that the title came after great effort throughout the season, and carries special importance as it returns the league shield for the youth category to the club’s coffers, with its aspiration to continue shining in the upcoming awards.
