Managing 22.29 million containers in the first quarter 2025

Dubai Ports World Group «DPDDRID) recorded a strong performance during the first quarter of 2025, after dealing with about 22.29 million containers measuring 20 feet, compared to 20.73 million containers in the same period last year, with a growth rate of 7.5%.

According to data issued by the group, “Emirates Today” obtained a copy of it, “DP and Repeat” dealt with more than 1.5 million additional containers in its business portfolio globally, compared to the levels of the first quarter of last year.

The Europe, the Middle East, and Africa region registered the highest growth rates, with the volume of handling by 13.7%, to more than 8.34 million stereotypes in the first quarter of this year, compared to more than 7.33 million containers for the same period in 2024.

The Americas and Australia region ranked second in terms of growth by 7.3%, after the company’s handling reached about 3.29 million stereotypes, compared to about 3.07 million containers in the same period last year.

The Asia Pacific region and the Indian continent also achieved 3.2%growth, reaching about 10.65 million containers in the first quarter of this year, compared to 10.32 million containers during the same period of 2024.

It is noteworthy that “Dubai World Ports” set a record in container handling in 2024, where the group’s ports and container stations handled 88.3 million stereotypes of 20 feet in 2024, an increase of 8.3% on an annual basis, despite the difficult challenges faced by the macroeconomic and concerns about the prospects for global trade growth.
