"Sharjah Consultant" It discusses the policy of the Department of Economic Development

Sharjah, on April 27 / WAM / The Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah discussed, in its 13th session, which was held yesterday at its headquarters as part of its work for the second regular session of the eleventh legislative chapter, the policy of the Department of Economic Development in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The session was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al -Nuaimi, Chairman of the Council, in the presence of His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al -Mahmoud, Head of the Department of Economic Development, His Excellency Fahd Ahmed Al -Khamiri, Director of the Department, and a number of officials in it.
His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al -Mahmoud stressed that the tireless department seeks to achieve successes and achievements to develop the emirate’s economy and provide distinguished services and facilities for investors through qualified human cadres with the latest technology.
He reviewed the policies and services of the department, pointing out that it undertakes many tasks and responsibilities that play an important and effective role in supporting the economic and investment sectors.
Al -Mahmoud pointed out that the economy of the Emirate of Sharjah grows and develops, explaining that the revenues of the department in 2024 amounted to 1.07 billion dirhams, with a growth rate of 11%, while the number of establishments in the emirate reached 72 thousand and 406 establishments and the licenses issued by the department grew by 6%, the total growth of business licenses and 7%, and the growth of renewable licenses 7%.
Members of the Council put forward their inquiries about the incentives and legislation that encourage the continuity of economic activities in the emirate, the role of the department in protecting small and emerging installations, the extent of their benefit from successful economic experiences locally and internationally, and strategies for enabling national companies to expand towards global markets, calling for the creation of a quality classification system for services provided in the private sector is similar to the stars system that gives each evaluation facility that reflects Its commitment to standards and the quality of its services.
