"Abu Dhabi Book" Zayed National Museum celebrates the rich legacy of the state

ABU DHABI, April 28/ WAM/ The Zayed National Museum participates in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025, and provides visitors with visitors a distinctive cultural program and a series of inspiring lectures, interactive workshops, and rich cultural experiences, which highlight the legacy of the UAE, its ancient history and its authentic culture.
The wing provides visitors with a unique opportunity to explore a mobile digital version of one of the valuable astronomical manuscripts from the Zayed National Museum group, where the “Fixed Planetary Pictures Book”, which was written by astronomer Abdul Rahman Al -Sufi in the tenth century AD.
The pavilion provides a distinctive interactive visual experience that tells the story of the “Magan boat” project, a joint research project between the Zayed National Museum, Zayed University and New York University Abu Dhabi, aimed at highlighting the ancient marine legacy of the UAE and its role in trade during the Bronze Age.
The Zayed National Museum is also organizing within the activities of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025, tomorrow, a dialogue session entitled “The Magan boat project and the role of the Zayed National Museum in preserving the Emirati marine heritage”.
The session sheds light on the Magan boat project by touching on the details of the project of building the Magan boat, a boat dating back to the Bronze Age that was sailing in the waters of the Arabian Gulf.
Under the slogan “Museums in Community Service”, Dr. Peter Maggie, Director of the Zayed National Museum, will participate in a special session entitled “Our Museum Manarat Creativity and Communication”.
The session highlights the vital role played by museums in the cultural and social life of societies.
The museum is also witnessing the organization of a variety of workshops, which allow visitors to explore the Magan boat and the “Fixed Planetary Pictures Book” through interactive and innovative activities.
It also allows children to experience writing in the Mesmari pen, where they write old Sumerian words found on the board that was used in building the Magan boat.
