Colombian Minister of Culture: Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit enhances global cooperation
Abu Dhabi, April 29/ WAM/ His Excellency Yanai Kadamani, Minister of Culture, Arts and Knowledge of the Republic of Colombia, confirmed that “the Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit 2025” is an important strategic platform to discuss cultural identity issues, challenges that characterize cultures, as well as the ties that bring them together, noting that the summit provides a valuable opportunity to enhance cultural cooperation between countries and work to deepen understanding between different peoples.
Her Excellency, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, said that Latin American countries, including Colombia, share with the UAE in many basic cultural values, considering that this summit reflects the importance of enhancing communication between different cultures.
She added that “what brings us together is much greater than what separates us,” stressing that cultural events represent an opportunity to expand the horizons of mutual understanding and enhance the joint cultural awareness between peoples.
With regard to the experience of the UAE, His Excellency Kadamani praised the great development that the UAE witnessed during a short period of time, considering that the UAE has become a role model in building a rich and varied cultural identity, expressing its aspiration for the continuation of this development, expected that cultural growth will continue in the near future in a way that enhances the UAE’s position at the regional and global levels.
Her Excellency affirmed that culture remains a major tool for achieving peace and harmony between peoples, noting that cultural forums represent a basic pillar of consolidating cooperation between countries at the cultural and humanitarian levels.
She referred to the “Arts for Peace” program, which is run by the Colombian Ministry of Culture, which aims to introduce arts and culture in schools and education institutions throughout the country.
She stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the ministries concerned with education and culture, noting that this cooperation is very important in enhancing the role of arts in building the cultural identity of youth and developing their creative capabilities in an environment of peace and coexistence.
