"Saudi Arabia highlights its cultural transformation at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

Abu Dhabi, May 3 / WAM / The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participates in the 34th session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025, organized by the “Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center” and will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center and concludes its activities tomorrow, Monday.

This participation comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s keenness to enhance its cultural and intellectual presence at the Arab and international levels; The Saudi pavilion opens to visitors and exhibitors a window to learn about the qualitative shift in the Kingdom in the fields of literature, publishing and translation.
The pavilion presents a contemporary model for the book industry in the Kingdom through the participation of prominent cultural and educational institutions, such as the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the King Fahd National Library, the King Abdulaziz House, the King Saud University, the Umm Al -Qura University, the King Faisal University, and the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Noble Qur’an.
The pavilion also includes a number of various cultural activities such as organizing workshops and dialogue sessions and signing books, as well as displaying a wide range of publications covering various fields that include history, literature, science and Islamic studies.

Engineer Bassam Al -Bassam, Director General of the General Administration of Publishing in the Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM”, that the Kingdom’s participation this year reflects the depth of cultural relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia and aims to support the publishing industry and enhance literary dialogue and highlight the role of translation and its importance in expanding cultural exchange and joint international distribution.
He added: “We were keen that our participation this year be with a firm institutional identity through cooperation with a number of official bodies concerned with making the book, as well as preparing a diverse cultural program that reflects the Kingdom’s civilization and its authentic heritage, and the Abu Dhabi exhibition is a prominent cultural platform that brings together the trauma and openness, which corresponds to our directions to enhance the Saudi presence in international forums.”
The “Print” platform is highlighted in the Saudi pavilion as one of the national innovations in the field of publishing; The writers were able to print their books and request copies of them at any time and anywhere, in a way that contributes to facilitating publication and expanding the circle of access to literary and intellectual production.

The Saudi participation in the exhibition reflects the accelerated cultural movement in the Kingdom; It shows the great development in the fields of literature, publishing and translation and enhances its position as a prominent cultural destination that contributes to supporting cultural dialogue and exchanging knowledge with the countries of the world.
