Dubai, May 3 / WAM / Dr. Al -Amin Jaafar Ahmed Taha, head of the Sudanese community in the Emirates, confirmed that the “Sudan Gate 2025” event, which was held today in the city of Expo Dubai, represents a vital platform for the transfer of Sudanese culture to the world from the heart of the Emirates, and reflects the depth of historical relations between the two brotherly peoples.
“We are happy with the participation of the Sudanese community in this important event that highlights our cultural presence in the UAE, which dates back to before the founding of the union, where the Sudanese had an active role in societal and cultural life within the state.”
He added that the Sudanese community is known for its good relations and its rooted presence, noting that many Emiratis have a great love for Sudanese culture, and even visit Sudan constantly and discover its cities and traditions, which reflects the depth of cultural exchange between the two peoples.
He pointed out that Sudan has a wide cultural and geographical diversity, which includes more than 140 languages and 400 tribes, considering that this diversity represents a source of strength and civilized richness that enhances the specificity of Sudanese identity.
Dr. Al -Amin Jaafar emphasized that the Sudanese Social Club, which was established in 1974 as the first social club for the community, expanded to include six branches in the various emirates of the country with generous support from the wise leadership, stressing that this contributed to the consolidation of the Sudanese cultural presence and documenting the ties of brotherhood with the Emirati society.
For his part, Ahmed Hamrawi, the official of the “Emirates Love Sudan” page and the general coordinator of the “Sudan Gate” effectiveness, said that the event comes as a societal initiative aimed at building bridges of communication between the Sudanese residing in the country, the Emirati society and residents of different nationalities.
Hamrawi explained that the event highlights the Sudanese heritage and culture with all its diversity, and pointed out that the great enthusiasm of the community has appeared since the first announcement of the event on social media, and before even the disclosure of the program or the names of the participants, which reflects the depth of the link to the homeland and the concern for cultural interaction.
The event witnessed a remarkable artistic presence, represented in the participation of the Sudanese artist Nancy Ajaj and the “Mar Senba” band that mixes Sudanese and Afrobits, along with Dr. Omar Al -Amin, one of the children of the community born in the Emirates, who celebrated the Sudanese folklore through various artistic and heritage paragraphs.
The event also witnessed the participation of the Emirates to the journalist Abdullah Ismail, and the Emirati artist Tariq Al -Menhali, who presented a song from West Sudan’s heritage, in a scene that embodied cultural exchange and a spirit of rapprochement between the two peoples.
“One of the influential situations witnessed by the event is that one of the Emirati youth asked me to help him in wearing the Sudanese aunt, which reflects the size of the appreciation that the Emirati brothers have to our culture,” Hamrawi said.
