"Abu Dhabi Book" Record 23 thousand hours of volunteering
Abu Dhabi, May 4 / WAM / Volunteering was one of the pillars of success in organizing the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which will be held this year under the slogan “Knowledge Society … Knowledge of Society”, to reflect the established values in the UAE society, especially with the 2025 declaration of society.
His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, Director of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, said in statements on the sidelines of the exhibition today, that the exhibition succeeded this year in achieving 23 thousand voluntary working hours, with the participation of more than 350 volunteers of 22 nationalities of 50 % of them are Emiratis and from different age groups, including children, within the framework of the “Little Volunteer” initiative that was created this year as a step aimed at instilling a culture of volunteering The souls of the new generation since childhood.
He explained that these efforts came as a result of an organized and systematic work led by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, the organizing body of the exhibition, towards achieving the goals of this year, which focuses on promoting effective societal participation between individuals and institutions, noting that the economic impact of volunteering hours was measured during the exhibition period, which amounted to about 1.2 million dirhams.
He said that despite the importance of this economic return, the most important impact is the social impact, as these numbers reflect the level of societal awareness, the extent of individuals ’readiness to initiate the service of their society, and the consolidation of the culture of volunteering as a firm value in the state.
The price of the efforts of all volunteers and their keenness to highlight the state’s position as a platform is an incubator for the most prominent cultural events, and a role model in the integrated societal and cultural work.
