المملكة: Saudi Arabia .. Distribution of 300 seedlings for Al -Muhazam Beach visitors in Jeddah

The Office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Jeddah Governorate, represented by the Department of Environment and Volunteering, in cooperation with the Municipality of Jeddah Governorate, revealed the distribution of more than 300 agricultural seedlings for a number of citizens who go to Al -Muhazam Beach.
This is in the context of its efforts to enhance the vegetation and increase the green area in the governorate, and in support of the Saudi Green Initiative targets.
The initiative aims to combat desertification and reduce land degradation by cultivating local plant species that are compatible with the Kingdom’s natural environment, which contributes to achieving sustainable environmental development that is consistent with the directions of the ministry.

Afforestation

The director of the Ministry’s office in Jeddah Governorate, Eng. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al -Qarni, explained that the initiative comes within the “Saudi Green” program, which was launched in 2021, and aims to cultivate 10 billion trees and rehabilitate 40 million hectares of deteriorating lands, stressing that environmental initiatives focus on improving the quality of life and facing the challenges of climate change and promoting biological diversity.
Al -Qarni pointed out that the office continues to implement afforestation initiatives in cooperation with government agencies, the private sector, non -profit organizations and local society, with the aim of expanding green spaces and enhancing environmental awareness among members of society in the province.
