Live broadcast from King Abdullah Medical City for a complex cardiac catheterization process to the PCI MENA 2025 conference

In a medical achievement that reflects the development of cardiovascular care in the Kingdom, King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah – a member of the Makkah Al -Mukarramah Health Gathering – conducted a successful direct broadcast of a complex cardiac catheterization of the condition of a chronic blockage in the coronary artery (CTO), to the PCI MENA 2025 conference held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, organized by the Saudi Society for Cardiovascular Interventions (SACIS). That the precise intervention was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Saad Al -Hassani and Dr. Mamdouh Ismail, with the support of the anesthesia team, and with distinguished support from the nursing staff, where the descending front artery (LAD) was successfully opened with one pillar, using the technique of optical tomography (OCT) and collision waves (Shock Wave), to break up the calcification and facilitate the passage of the pillar in a high environment Specialization.

He added, that the process was carried out directly to the scientific attendance at the conference, and formed an advanced educational experience that reflected the level of efficiency and professionalism in dealing with complex cases within the city, which concluded by returning the patient safely to the heart department to complete the care.

For his part, the Executive Director of King Abdullah Medical City, Dr. Adel bin Abdul Qadir Tash, indicated that this distinguished event confirms the ability of the medical city to combine clinical distinction and academic openness, which establishes its position as a regional reference center in the field of complex heart attacks, and a medical interface that contributes to transferring knowledge and enhancing the Kingdom’s position in the international medical arena.
