New US sanctions on Iranian ballistic missiles program

The United States has revealed new sanctions against 6 people and 12 companies, including companies located in China and Hong Kong, against the backdrop of support for the Iranian ballistic missile program.
This procedure comes after a set of sanctions imposed by the administration of President Donald Trump, targeting entities and individuals linked to the Iranian oil industry and the nuclear program.

A threat to stability

The Treasury reported that the sanctions imposed on Wednesday are targeting organizations that participate in “efforts to help the Iranian regime to locally obtain the basic materials necessary for the ballistic missile program in Tehran.”

“The United States cannot allow Iran to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles.”
He added that Tehran’s attempts to produce missiles and its components locally “poses an unacceptable threat to the United States and the stability of the region.”
The sanctions imposed after Washington announced the imposition of new sanctions on Iranian oil sales to China, while the Trump administration continues the “maximum pressure” campaign on Tehran, in parallel with nuclear talks with it.
