The “Space Data Center” gets a mark of readiness for the future

The Emirates Space Agency obtained a mark of readiness for the future for the “Space Data Center” project, which is granted to the federal and local government agencies, which design and implement exceptional projects that enhance the UAE’s readiness for future variables.

The satellite data center gets a mark of readiness for the future, as it represents from one of the national transformational projects, supporting the efforts of the UAE government to accelerate digital transformation, and employ space techniques and artificial intelligence in the service of human and sustainability.

The space services offered by the center, which was developed in partnership with Space 42, includes the leading Emirati company in space technology: access to space data, data analysis algorithms, artificial intelligence software, and a market for satellite applications. The center also includes 47 of the artificial intelligence models that have been internally developed for space data analysis, including models to detect environmental changes, and track Ships, crisis and disaster management such as floods and earthquakes.

The center contributed to developing an advanced digital infrastructure that enhances the readiness of the space sector, within an innovative system, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region, which depends on the solutions of artificial intelligence and smart analyzes, and its transformation into decisions to make decisions in real time, and its role in supporting 30 national and international tasks, while the center benefits from a network that includes more than 300 artificial satellites to monitor the planet within a unified infrastructure.

The Minister of State for Governmental and Future Development, Ahoud Bint Khalfan Al -Roumi, stressed that the “Space Data Center” project reflects the future vision of the UAE, and embodies the strategic importance of the space sector in its directions based on integrating space technology and artificial intelligence in pre -emptive work models that serve man, society and the environment, noting that the project represents a scientific and practical reference for the countries of the world in the uses of space science to support National plans with smart indicators that raise the elasticity of the sectors and accelerate their response to future variables.

For his part, the Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Space Agency, Dr. Ahmed Balhoul Al -Falasi, confirmed that the satellite data center project is a pivotal station in the march of the UAE, and embodies its ambitious vision in developing an advanced digital infrastructure that allows the participation and analysis of space data, in a way that contributes to the service of vital sectors at the state level and enhances the space economy.

He pointed out that the center today constitutes a leading and unique digital platform to collect and provide space data for scientists and researchers, governmental and private institutions, startups, and community members, as well as support the system of innovation in the space sector, and provides an integrated environment that stimulates scientific research, and contributes to accelerating the development of space applications to face urgent global challenges such as climate change, food security, and management of natural resources.

He stressed that the project contributed to empowering entrepreneurs and startups, and supporting creative competencies and minds, in order to enhance the state’s position as a reliable regional center in space science and technology, and translates the directives of good leadership towards ensuring the sustainability and development of the national space sector, and achieving comprehensive and sustainable development goals during the coming decades.
