“Dubai Roads” accomplishes a package of quick traffic improvements

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has completed a package of fast traffic solutions to enhance the link between Sheikh Zayed Street and Al -Khail Street through Al -Midan Street, and the improvements included the expansion of a way out of Sheikh Zayed Street to Al -Midan Street from one path to two tracks, and raised the capacity of the bridge at the top of the first horse street, from 3 to 4 tracks for vehicles coming from horse and field streets in the direction to Sheikh Zayed Street and Garden Street and vice versa, as the authority implemented an expansion between links The surface road and the bridge are above the first horse street from one path to two tracks for vehicles heading to horse and field streets.

This achievement comes within a strategic plan developed by the authority to implement more than 75 traffic improvements in a number of vital areas in the Emirate of Dubai during the year 2025, to support the process of sustainable growth, and achieve the quality of life and luxury for the population, which contributes to the consolidation of Dubai’s position as one of the best cities in the world in terms of integrated infrastructure and easy and sustainable movement.

The improvements also included the expansion of exit No. (D69) from one path to two tracks for vehicles coming from Sheikh Zayed Street towards the horse and field streets, which doubled the capacity from 1500 to 3000 vehicles per hour. This contributed to reducing the flight time for the exit by up to 40% during the morning and evening peak hours, and reducing waiting queues for vehicles for up to 50%.

In the context of its ongoing efforts to improve the smooth flow of traffic and enhance the efficiency of the road network in the emirate, the authority raised the capacity of the bridge at the first horse street, from 3 to 4 tracks from the two sides for vehicles coming from Al -Khail Street in the direction to Sheikh Zayed and Garden Street and vice versa, and this improvement contributed to increasing the absorptive capacity of the bridge by more than 33% from 4,500 vehicles to 6000 vehicles per hour, and contributed to reducing the time of transit during peak hours of 7 minutes to 4 minutes, up to about 40%.

The commission carried out an expansion of links between the surface and bridge on top of the first horse street from path to two tracks, which improved the flow of the movement by alleviating traffic congestion and reducing the waiting time by more than 50%, especially in the noon and evening periods. This traffic solution contributed to the flow of vehicles coming from Sheikh Zayed Street towards Al -Khail Street and vice versa.
