Search operations are completed in a tall building destroyed by a Thailand earthquake

Officials in the Thai capital, Bangkok, announced yesterday the end of the searches under the rubble of a tall building that collapsed after the earthquake of 28 March, and the building that was scheduled to be the new headquarters of the government account auditing body, the only building in Bangkok that collapsed in the wake of the earthquake.
The earthquake center, which was 7.7 on the neighboring Richter scale in Myanmar, was more than 1,200 km away, killing at least 96 people in Bangkok, most of them at the building collapse site, and officials stated that 89 bodies were recovered from under the rubble, while seven people are still missing at the site.
They confirmed that they will continue to examine hundreds of parts of human remains to determine the identity of the missing.
The collapse raised questions about the application of construction and corruption safety regulations, and the police announced yesterday that they are still investigating the accident, and will continue to collect evidence from the collapse site until the end of this month.
The authorities are conducting investigations with many companies and individuals on any collapse violations, including the Chinese government contracting company, “Chinese Engineering Group No. 10”.
The investigation led to the arrest of the Chinese CEO in Thailand and three Thai shareholders, on suspicion of managing the company in a suspicious way. About “Euronews”
