المملكة: Riyadh is preparing to host the vaccine forum with the participation of a group of experts

Riyadh is preparing to host the seventh Saudi International Forum for vaccines, on May 17 and 18, with the participation of a group of the most prominent local and regional experts in the field of vaccine development and promotion of preventive health.
The forum is held under the auspices of health affairs at the Ministry of National Guard, and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (Kasaw).
The forum is the most prominent event in the region in the field of vaccine and public health, as it aims to exchange experiences and foresee the future of vaccine development strategies in Saudi Arabia and the region, and to enhance cooperation between health sectors.

Platform for developing vaccine science

D. Majid Al -Shamrani, President of the Forum and Executive Director of the Preventive Medicine and Infection Control Program in King Abdulaziz Medical City, that the forum is “the ideal platform for developing vaccine science and promoting local and international health cooperation, which contributes to protecting lives and achieving healthy well -being of societies.”

The forum’s agenda for this year includes a set of vital issues, most notably:
New vaccines are under development to combat infectious diseases.
– The latest developments about Hajj, Umrah and travel medicine vaccines.
– Immunology and chronic diseases vaccines strategies.
HPV vaccine to prevent cancer.
– Ways facing epidemics and outbreaks through vaccines.
On the sidelines of the forum, interactive workshops and scientific discussion sessions are also held between international experts in the field of vaccine and health decision makers.

This year the forum holds the slogan “Development of Vaccines for healthy societies: protecting lives and enhancing luxury”, which reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting preventive health and continuous medical education, according to what Dr. Faisal Farhat, Director of Public Health at King Abdulaziz Medical City.
As for d. Muhammad Al -Zanitan, Deputy Executive Director of the Preventive Medicine Program, confirmed that the forum represents the commitment of Saudi Arabia to its pioneering role in supporting health research and scientific development, noting that it is an interactive platform that brings together researchers, practitioners, and policy makers under one roof.

Enhancing scientific research in the field of vaccines

The organization of the forum comes in the context of the Saudi vision to enhance health independence and scientific research in the field of vaccine, and to develop effective local and regional solutions for infectious diseases.
Saudi efforts to increase investments in vital technologies continue, including support for vaccine research centers and partnership with international institutions to develop and produce vaccines that contribute to achieving national and regional health security.
