Sharjah is champion of the Handball League for the twentieth time in its history

Sharjah, April 21 / WAM / The Sharjah Handball Team was crowned champion of the game’s General League competition for the tenth time in a row, and the twentieth in its history.
This came after the conclusion of the league competition matches tonight in the 21st round, which was held in the Sharjah Club hall, and witnessed Sharjah’s victory over the Al-Nasr team with a score of 31-17.
With this achievement, the team reached the 53rd title in its record of achievements in all tournaments.
The winning team was crowned by Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Thani, in the presence of His Excellency Eng. Saud Ibrahim Saleh, President of the Emirates Handball Federation, His Excellency Mohammed Juma bin Hindi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club, His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al-Hussan, Secretary General of the Sharjah Sports Council, and Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Board Member and Head of the Group Sports Department at Sharjah Club, and members of the Board of Directors and team officials.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Thani congratulated His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unlimited support for the club and all its members, which has brought it to this position.
He said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, after the team was crowned tonight: “This achievement is the result of great effort and continuous work from successive boards of directors, and a success that is counted for all,” pointing out that the secret of Sharjah’s superiority is continuous work in the spirit of the team and one family, wishing to continue maintaining this success.
His Excellency Engineer Saud Ibrahim Saleh said: We congratulate the Sharjah Club for achieving the Handball League title for the tenth consecutive time and the twentieth in its history, and this achievement is the result of great efforts in developing players and teams.
He added: We look forward to continuing to support clubs from the Handball Federation to enhance foreign participation and support national teams during the next stage.
Jassim Mohammed, member of the Group Sports Department and Supervisor of Handball at the Sharjah Club, confirmed that this achievement was only achieved with the support of the wise leadership and its great confidence in the club and its children in order to reach this position and maintain success and excellence.
He pointed out that crowning Sharjah with the title for the tenth time in a row, and the twentieth in its history, is a major achievement for all players, coaches, administrative, technical and medical staff, stressing that this achievement did not come from nowhere, but rather as a result of continuous work throughout the season.
He explained that the team’s ambition is to dominate all local tournaments and maintain the Asian title, in order to qualify for the World Championship.
Ahmed Hilal, a player for the Sharjah team, said: “We congratulate the management of the Sharjah Club and all members of the team for this achievement. We are proud of the distinction, the coronation, and the achievement of all the tournaments in which we participate, and our goal is always to stand on the podium.”
Player Hamad Abdullah confirmed that what was achieved came about through the team’s solidarity and hard work throughout the season in order to reach our goals, thanking the team management that supported it throughout the season in order to maintain previous achievements.
Muhammad Ismail, goalkeeper of the Sharjah Handball Team, pointed out that the team’s arrival to 10 league titles in a row is a remarkable achievement in the team’s history, and a continuation of its excellence with all previous and current administrations, pointing out that the team is thinking about all local and foreign tournaments.
