56 hotels “under construction and planning” in Dubai with a capacity of 15 thousand rooms

The American company, “Loding Econometrics”, which specializes in the real estate consulting sector, said that the number of hotel projects under construction and planning in Dubai reached 56 hotel projects with a capacity of more than 15 thousand rooms at the end of the first quarter of this year.

The company stated that hotel projects are under construction and planning in the UAE market as a whole, reaching 102 hotel establishments, including about 27.2 thousand rooms during the same period.

The company revealed in a report on the trends of hotel construction projects in the Middle East for the first quarter of 2025, “Emirates Today” obtained a copy of it, that at the end of the first quarter, the number of hotel construction projects under construction and planning in the region increased to 634 hotel projects with a capacity of more than 158 thousand rooms, an increase of 4% for the number of establishments, and 10% for the number of rooms on an annual basis.

She indicated that in the first quarter of 2025, the number of projects under construction is currently 327 projects with a capacity of 84.4 thousand rooms, an increase of 8% for the number of projects, and 5% for the number of rooms on an annual basis.

As for the projects scheduled to start construction during the next 12 months, they numbered 158 projects with a capacity of 47 thousand rooms, an increase of 19% for each project, and 55% for each room on an annual basis.

The number of projects in the early planning phase reached 149 projects with 27 thousand rooms, while the number of new projects announced in the Middle East with the end of the first quarter reached 41 projects with a capacity of 9,000 rooms.

According to the company, during the first quarter, the Middle East opened nine new hotels with a capacity of 2130 rooms, while it expected 99 additional new hotels with a capacity of 23.5 thousand rooms during the remaining period of the year, bringing the total number of new hotels that will open to 108 new hotels with a capacity of 25.6 thousand rooms by the end of 2025.

By the end of next year, the company analysts expect 109 new hotels with a capacity of 20 thousand rooms throughout the Middle East. It is noteworthy that the number of hotel establishments in Dubai reached 832 facilities at the end of last March, with a capacity of 153.7 thousand rooms, and in the UAE market as a whole the number of hotels reached 1251 hotels by the end of last year, and the number of hotel rooms increased to about 217 thousand rooms and an increase rate of 3% compared to 2023.
