Sports trip led me to professional perfume industry

The entrepreneur, Citizen, CEO of Aroma de Lamor, for the manufacture and trade of perfumes, Amer Al -Murid, stated that a coincidence changed the direction of his life while traveling on a sports trip to encourage his favorite football team (Al -Ahly Youth Club) during a match for the team in a Chinese city years ago, as he met one of his friends on the plane to talk about the field of trade and perfume industry, and tries to persuade him to enter this field.
He stated in an interview with «Emirates Today» that he was convinced of the words of his friend during the trip, and began to know the aspects of the perfume industry and trade gradually and enter the field with him at the beginning, before he then went to establish his company during 2019 shortly before the Korona pandemic.
He explained that he was not thinking about entering this field had it not been for his friend’s encouragement at the beginning, but he later decided to focus on knowing all aspects of the field, and discovering his passion in the field of perfumes that appeared through his work on the growth and development of the company.
Al -Murid added that although “the pandemic was a great challenge in the markets, it included many opportunities that contributed to supporting his work in the company at the beginning of its founding, and that at a time when some people were cutting his work because of the pandemic, he decided to work in the hope of developing his field of work during that period.”
He explained that «among the opportunities included in the period of the pandemic of entrepreneurs, the access of entry to work through various outlets in the commercial centers that welcomed its time in entrepreneurs, with the large companies’ fear of expanding their outlets and the tendency to reduce their work, which made him gradually expand in work with outlets and branches for sale through kiosks in various commercial centers.
He pointed out that «work began with two perpetrators during the establishment of the company since 2019, and those outlets gradually grew until they now reached 21 outlets for sale, in addition to warehouses and a factory that includes lines to produce perfumes of all kinds.
Al -Murid said that he worked to know all aspects of the field of trade and manufacture gradually from the beginning, and set a feasibility study and plans for gradual growth, and began to manufacture a number of perfumes that reached in the initial stages to about eight, and later rose to 16 types of perfumes for the company’s brands.
He added that he chose a concept of the quality of perfumes that the company is working to produce, to be on the names of global cities, to express scents related to a memory of its users, and that global cities have a memory that remains for travelers to them, and is linked to long periods of memory.
He pointed out that «the perfume industry is a science and art that needs to be studied and expertise for many years, and those who work in manufacturing perfumes that are the basis for later -sold perfumes, studying in international universities in order to be able to put the components of the concentrated essential oils that are relied upon in manufacturing operations.
Al -Murid explained that his company has gone through multiple stages of expansion since he had only two employees at the beginning, until the number currently reached more than 100 employees, pointing out that the company is heading according to specific policies for expansion, as it is targeted to raise the number of sales outlets to reach 25 outlets by 2027.
He added that the company also expanded in sales in the local markets to supply the Gulf and Arab markets, such as Iraq, Libya, Tunisia and Mauritania, in addition to selling some products in the American markets.
He explained that the upcoming expansion plans include the opening of sales outlets in foreign markets such as Qatar during the next year, provided that the steps of expansion in other Gulf markets will be studied later.
He pointed out that the company has turned from selling in the outlets to sale through Internet platforms and social media pages, pointing out that “the company operates through the production and packaging of its perfumes, with the outsourcing processes of manufacturing for others through the production lines of the factory.”
Al -Murid said that “the local perfume industry is witnessing continuous growth, by supporting the momentum of demand growth in the local markets, and the entry of a number of citizenship cadres to the sector, whether through trade or supply and manufacturing operations.”
He added that «it is necessary for citizenship cadres from entrepreneurs who wish to enter the field of perfume industry or other projects, to realize the importance of familiarity with all aspects of the field and specialization of the project, and increase education and qualification in that field, prepare the appropriate feasibility study, and develop work policies and expansion so that they are not subject to stumbling in the beginnings of their work by entering areas that have no knowledge of them.
Challenges for entrepreneurs
The entrepreneur and CEO of Aroma de Lamor, for the manufacture and trade of perfumes, Amer Al -Murid, said that “the most prominent challenges facing many citizens’ entrepreneurs in entering various fields of work, are the extreme fear of starting the project, and the inability to align the requirements of the job and the project, which requires an additional effort, and increase the focus, ”calling for the need to expand the provision of the concepts of flexible working hours, And the policies of work with half a salary and a long time, for citizens who prefer to establish special projects, without exposing their jobs.
