AFC President: The Champions League title "2" It reflects the development of Emirati football

Singapore, May 19/ WAM/ His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation, congratulated Sharjah Club on the occasion of its crowning the AFC Champions League title (2) 2024-2025, after defeating Lyon City City Celeraz Singapore 2-1 in the final match that was held yesterday evening, at Bishan Stadium in Singapore, in the midst of a fully public attendance.
The final match witnessed a historic moment for Sharjah, as the team opened the scoring a quarter of an hour before the end, but Lyon City admitted the result in stoppage time, before Sharjah scored the decisive winning goal in the 97th minute, to win his first continental titles.
Sheikh Salman said that this achievement reflects the development of Emirati football, stressing that the remarkable performance of the Sharjah Club, in addition to the distinguished level of the Lyon City team, embodies the effectiveness of joint work between the ball federals in the Emirates and Singapore in developing the game at the local and continental level.
The AFC president expressed his pride in the success of the first continental season in the new regime, which witnessed the crowning of three clubs with continental titles for the first time, Sharjah, the “AFC Champions League 2”, Al -Ahly Saudi “AFC Champions League”, and the Turkmen arcades “The Asian Challenge League”.
He stressed that the comprehensive reforms that were applied in Asian club competitions represent a qualitative shift aimed at raising the technical level and promoting competitiveness, praising the great role of national federations and clubs in the success of this transformation, stressing the AFC commitment to continuing partnership and development during the coming seasons.
