The President of Taiwan Lay Cheng-T confirmed in a speech on the occasion of the year of his assumption that his country is ready for dialogue with China, but at the same time it will continue to build its defenses.

China agrees on conditions

Lay told reporters that Taiwan “will actively cooperate with its international allies alongside, to practice a deterrent force, prepare for war to avoid war and achieve the goal of peace.”

Chinese military exercises

China, which is calling for sovereignty over Taiwan and pledged to restore it by force, has made several rounds of widespread military exercises around the island since he took office.
On Monday, Taiwan warned that China might use the “mental war” with the aim of “disturbing the morale of public opinion.”
