Emirates and Bahrain are looking for bilateral cooperation in the transport and infrastructure sector

Dubai, May 21 / WAM / His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transport and Communications in the Kingdom of Bahrain, discussed ways to activate the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries in the field of transport and transportation, which aims to exchange technical and administrative experiences, and develop joint strategic projects in the areas of sustainable transport, self -driving transport, digital transformation, besides Cooperation in the areas of training and capacity building for national cadres.

This came during the meeting that took place between the two sides yesterday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai, within the framework of the strong fraternal relations that bring together the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the two countries are keen to consolidate cooperation and integration in various fields of transportation and infrastructure, in a way that contributes to supporting the smart and sustainable movement, and achieving economic and social development in the region.
The opportunities for cooperation in the field of ports were also reviewed, and the prospects for benefiting from mutual experiences in developing the infrastructure of ports and logistical services, in order to enhance regional competitiveness and keep pace with global transformations in the maritime transport sector.
His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei stressed that the meeting represented an opportunity to enhance the frameworks of cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and to build a partnership model based on the exchange of knowledge and experiences, in a way that supports the implementation of joint projects that contribute to achieving the strategic goals of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, noting that the meeting reflects the depth of historical relations between the two countries and their common keenness to build a more bonding and sustainable future in the areas of transportation, legislation and infrastructure.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain operates according to an ambitious strategy to develop an integrated and sustainable transportation system, serving the sectors of maritime, air and land transport to reflect the aspirations of the government and the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2030, stressing the need to invest in the ingredients and gains that have been achieved, while benefiting from the successful experiences of the UAE in various fields.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Eng. Hassan Mohamed Juma Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs, His Excellency Eng. Hessa Al Malik, Advisor to His Excellency the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mishaal bin Muhammad Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Works, and His Excellency Mr. Badr Hood Al -Mahmoud, the Bahraini Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Navigation, along with a number of senior officials from both sides.
