AFC: A strong Emirati imprint in the first version of " Champions 2"

Kuala Lumpur on May 21/ WAM/ The Asian Football Confederation praised the great success of the first version of the AFC Champions League 2, which witnessed the crowning of Sharjah Club by the title, after winning the final match against Lyon City Salars Singapore, to become the first Emirati club to win this continental title, and the second club from the country to achieve the Asian Championship after Al Ain.

In its report, Al -Ittihad confirmed that the tournament witnessed milestones in the march of the participating clubs, most notably the achievement of Sharjah, which raised its balance from the titles to 22 titles in various championships, including 7 titles in the Professional League, 10 in the His Highness Cup, and 3 in the Super Cup, and the title of the League Cup and the AFC Champions League 2.

The Continental Federation praised the Romanian coach, Cosmin Olaario, who added a new title to his busy record, raising the number of his training titles inside the Emirates to 16 titles.

The report indicated that Sharjah has become the first Emirati team to crown an Asian title outside its home, while the goal of the coronation scored by Marcus Meloni was the goal of the 399 championship out of 119 games.

Sardar Azmoun, Al -Ahly’s youth player, topped the scorers list with 9 goals, while Leon City City scored a historic achievement by reaching the first continental final for the Singapore team.

The Japanese team of Sanvis Hiroshima set a remarkable number with the participation of 19 different players in the registration, while the Iranian Sibahan won the highest rate of ball in the tournament at a rate of 68%.

At the end of the first edition of the tournament, the crowning of Sharjah in the AFC Champions League 2 confirmed the leadership of Emirati clubs, and the success of the tournament organizationally and technically, which enhances the status of the AFC in providing competitions that rise to the level of continental competition and open new horizons for the region’s clubs.
