"Economy" The Knowledge and Innovation Center launches and expects partnerships with 18 universities and an academic institution

Abu Dhabi, May 22 / WAM / The Ministry of Economy launched the “Knowledge and Innovation Hub”, in cooperation with a group of academic sector institutions in the country, with the aim of developing partnership between the two sides in the fields of studies, economic research and scientific research.
This came during an event organized by the Ministry today in Dubai, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy, and a number of ministry officials and leaders of the participating academic institutions.
In this regard, the Ministry announced the signing of partnerships and memoranda of understanding with 18 academic institutions that include universities, research institutes and innovation centers from various emirates of the state, to enhance the exchange of knowledge between the ministry and universities and the concerned authorities on policies, legislation and economic affairs as well as sectors and specializations related to them, and to benefit from the best experiences and practices in this regard, in a way that provides an integrated national network that supports the process of developing economic policies, enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy The business environment in the state.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri said that the UAE has paid great attention to the development and development of economic legislation based on global best practices, in its belief in its role in enhancing the growth of the national economy and supporting its competitiveness regionally and globally, and today we are through the “Knowledge and Innovation Center” initiative in front of an important step to expand the work network with the academic sector in the country from universities and academic institutions, and create a new platform that leads research and innovation Knowledge meets economic policies and enhances cooperation in scientific research and economic policies, in a way that supports the state’s vision in a national economic building based on knowledge and innovation, and in line with the vision of “We Emirates 2031”.
His Excellency added that universities and research centers within the state are not only institutions that provide centers for training and technical and technical education, but also have a deep understanding of the economic and social challenges that we face, which confirms the importance of this initiative in benefiting from the role of these national academic edifices to innovate global leading policies that support the path of sustainable economic development in the country.
His Excellency explained that education is not directly measured in the gross domestic product, but its impact is deeply rooted, as it contributes to enhancing work productivity, improving technological efficiency, attracting investment, and encourages innovation and entrepreneurship, as it supports building and developing generations of promising elements with the best competitive capabilities.
In the framework of the new knowledge and innovation center, the academic institutions of the Ministry included the new knowledge and innovation center: Khalifa University, the American University in Sharjah, New York University Abu Dhabi, the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Sharjah University, the American University in the Emirates, the American University in Dubai, Dubai University, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, Abu Dhabi University, the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah University, Umm Al Quwain University, and a college Abu Dhabi Administration, Al Ain University, Mohammed bin Rashid College for Governmental Administration, Trends Center for Research and Consulting and Fikr Center.
Understanding notes focus on enhancing capacity building in economic fields and sectors, conducting research and studies concerned with the economic priorities of the state, organizing workshops and round table sessions to exchange knowledge and opinions regarding economic studies and policies, support the possibility of converting practical research into practical practices, exchanging knowledge with foreign universities, developing academic and executive programs, supporting community awareness of the culture of entrepreneurship Innovation and creativity, and provide training and awareness programs for students.
The signature was attended by His Excellency Safia Hashem Al -Safi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Supervision and Commercial Governance Sector at the Ministry of Economy; And His Excellency Dr. Maria Hanif Al -Qasim, Assistant Undersecretary for the Policy and Economic Studies Sector at the Ministry of Economy, and a number of presidents, deans, executives and representatives of faculty members in 22 universities and academic institutions in the country.
The event included the organization of two sessions, the first session entitled “Academic visions and policy impact: promoting innovation through academic and institutional cooperation”, and highlighted the important role that academic institutions play in supporting economic development and promoting competitiveness through innovation, and opportunities to build an effective framework for intellectual property, while the second session was entitled “Data and Decisions: the academic role in making Policies, “dealt with the importance of universities and academic institutions in drawing innovative economic policies and supporting the construction of a sustainable economic future for countries.
