The UAE participates in the 23rd meeting of the ministers concerned with housing affairs in the countries of cooperation in Kuwait

Kuwait, May 23/ WAM/ His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, headed the state’s delegation participating in the twenty -third meeting of Excellencies and Excellency the ministers concerned with housing affairs in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held yesterday in the Kuwaiti capital, with the participation of the housing ministers in the countries of the Council and the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council.
His Excellency Al -Mazrouei stressed, during his participation, the UAE leadership’s keenness to support and enhance the joint Gulf action in various fields, especially in the housing file, as it is a basic pillar of achieving social stability and sustainable development, praising the progress made by cooperation in this vital sector, expressing the UAE aspiring to the continued joint coordination and supporting initiatives that improve the quality of life and enhance integrated urban development.
He said that the rational leadership assumes the housing sector a top priority as one of the most important strategic axes to enhance the quality of life and achieve family and social stability, as the state continues to develop innovative housing programs and initiatives that meet the needs of citizens according to the highest quality and sustainability standards, in line with the vision of “We Emirates 2031”.
His Excellency explained that the UAE’s efforts in the housing sector are directly consistent with the sustainable development goals approved by the United Nations, especially the eleventh goal “sustainable local cities and societies”, by providing safe housing, affordable, and enjoying sustainable infrastructure, stressing that national housing projects take into account the concepts of green economy, smart building technologies, energy and water efficiency, in a way that enhances the state’s ability to face challenges Climate and achieves the comprehensive sustainability of future generations.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, the winning projects were announced in the Cooperation Council Award in the field of housing, “The Sixth Edition 2024-2025”, which was entitled “Digital/Smart” applications and technologies in housing projects and programs, where the UAE won the second place for the “Home package” project, which is an innovative model in providing integrated housing services.
The “23” meeting was preceded by the owners of His Excellency and His Excellency the ministers concerned with housing affairs in the countries of the Cooperation Council, the activities of the twenty -sixth meeting of senior housing officials in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, through which His Excellency Eng. Mohammed Abdullah Al -Mansoori, Director of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, the participating state delegation, who reviewed the axes of technical cooperation and exchanging the best experiences in developing housing policies and unified Gulf trends towards sustainable urban development.
His Excellency pointed out that the UAE continues its pivotal role in supporting Gulf integration initiatives, and is keen to enhance partnerships and exchange knowledge and experiences, in a way that serves the goals of joint Gulf action, and contributes to developing sustainable cities with high efficiency in terms of urban planning and societal integration.
His Excellency Al -Mansouri highlighted the Emirati experience in the field of housing, stressing that the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program is one of the most prominent pioneering models regionally, as he succeeded since its foundation in meeting thousands of housing requests, and contributed to enabling citizenship families to possess appropriate housing that achieve stability and well -being.
Within the framework of the activities accompanying the meeting, the third Gulf housing week witnessed the organization of the “Hakaton Gulf Housing” competition, which was allocated to students of Gulf universities with the aim of encouraging young people to innovate and present creative ideas in the fields of housing and urban planning.
Several universities participated in the competition: including the United Arab Emirates University, Sharjah University and Ajman University, where students presented qualitative projects that keep pace with the directions of smart cities, and contribute to creating innovative solutions to future challenges in the housing sector.
The state delegation included a number of senior officials of the housing authorities in the country, representing the following bodies: the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure represented in the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Corporation, and the Housing Department in Sharjah, where the members of the delegation participated in official workshops and workshops accompanying the meeting, which dealt with the successful housing experiences in the GCC countries Ways of integration, and discuss the most prominent challenges and future opportunities in this vital sector.
The UAE -active attendance in Gulf forums reflects the state’s commitment to support the joint Gulf action system, and to exchange experiences to develop a sustainable urban environment that achieves the welfare of the Gulf citizen and enhances the competitiveness of the cities of the region.
