The Omani Minister of Housing visits the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss real estate and investment cooperation opportunities

Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed Al -Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning in the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Amna bint Ahmed Al -Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Mr. Faisal bin Hareb Al -Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where Bamir bin Abdullah, the head of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, came, and the visit came within the framework of strengthening the bonds of bilateral cooperation and joint coordination between The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, especially in the areas related to urban development and urban planning, where during the meeting the prospects for partnership in the fields of real estate development, housing services, and the contracting sector were discussed during the meeting, and pushing economic relations towards more integrated levels.

The two sides stressed the importance of the real estate development sector as a basic pillar of economic growth, and a major axis within the national plans for sustainable development, noting the need to intensify efforts to exchange experiences and activate cooperation channels between the concerned authorities in the two countries, in a way that contributes to stimulating investment and enhancing the real estate business environment.

During the meeting, a number of issues of common concern were discussed, and emphasized the importance of opening wider areas for economic integration, activating the partnership between the public and private sectors, as well as promoting trade exchange, and providing qualitative investment opportunities for the business community in the two brotherly countries.

In this context, Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed Al -Shuaili about his appreciation for the advanced Bahraini experience in the areas of urban development and urban planning, noting that the Sultanate of Oman is keen to expand the scope of cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to explore new areas of partnership in the housing, infrastructure and real estate sector, in order to serve the development goals of the two countries.

He expressed his admiration for the accomplishments he witnessed, stressing that what was seen in the Kingdom is a source of pride for Bahrain leadership and people, and he pointed out that the Sultanate of Oman launched the vision of “Oman 2040” after exceeding the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, which is concerned with organizing the areas of planning, development, urbanization, industry and tourism, with a focus on the housing sector as a sustainable path.

Al -Shuaili reviewed during the meeting a number of developmental and strategic projects that reflect the future vision of the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of urbanization, tourism and economics, among them: the city of Al -Thuraya, the city of Al -Jabal Al -Hali, the city of Salalah, and the city of Sultan Haitham, which aims to enhance infrastructure, stimulate investments, and create a sustainable urban environment that serves citizens and visitors alike.

In turn, Samir bin Abdullah welcomed the visit of His Excellency the Omani Minister, praising the durability of economic relations that bring Bahrain in Oman, stressing that the Bahrain Chamber is fully prepared to provide all possible support ways to enhance cooperation between the business community in the two countries, and to open new horizons for economic and investment integration, especially in vital sectors such as real estate development, infrastructure, and logistical services.

Nass indicated that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries in 2024 amounted to about 374 million US dollars, which reflects the growing trade cooperation and promising opportunities to expand its horizons.

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of strengthening the frameworks of Gulf economic cooperation, and opening practical channels that support regional integration efforts, stressing that the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue to work to stimulate economic partnerships between Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman to serve the aspirations of sustainable development in the two brotherly countries.

While Khaled Mohamed Najibi, First Vice President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, pointing to the pivotal role played by the Bahraini Omani Holding Company as an umbrella to launch multiple partnerships between the two sides in various sectors, including the real estate, tourism, food, and others.

Najibi explained that the projects that were reviewed during the meeting will receive special attention from the company, in addition to encouraging the private sector in the two countries to enhance joint investments, which contributes to advancing economic development and achieving integration between the Gulf markets.
