Sharjah, June 10/ WAM/ Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, head of the Documentation House in the Emirate of Sharjah, stressed that the emirate’s celebration of the International Archive Week, which takes place during the period from 9 to 13 June, constitutes an opportunity to highlight the exceptional vision and the continuous efforts adopted by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah in preserving the documents and preserving history in a way that reflects the depth of identity The cultural heritage, noting that His Highness directed years ago to establish an integrated structure that is concerned with collecting, preserving and providing documents in accordance with the best international standards in recognition of the importance of the document in preserving the rights of individuals and institutions and documenting the state’s march.

The International Archives Week is an annual occasion organized by the International Archive Association (ICA) and aims to raise global awareness of the importance of documents and records in preserving human memory and enhancing transparency and governance as well as supporting the efforts of documentary institutions in various countries of the world.
Dar Al -Duaqa in the Emirate of Sharjah shall participate in this event, confirming its pivotal role in preserving the historical heritage and perpetuating the culture of documents as an essential component of societal, cultural and civilizational development.
