Maktoum bin Mohammed: Dubai is the land of promising opportunities

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai International Financial Centre, met with Bruce Flatt, CEO of Brookfield Asset Management and Alternative Investments Group.

During the meeting, ways to expand cooperation horizons were discussed, in light of the added value that the UAE and Dubai provide to the global investment community, including its integrated financial system based on transparency and economic stability, the flexible and advanced legislative and regulatory environment, the world-class infrastructure and digital capabilities, in addition to the distinguished geographical location that represents a strategic platform linking the East and the West, which provides unlimited opportunities to reach some of the most dynamic and growing economies in the world.

The meeting touched on the various advantages that Dubai provides to the global investment community, to enable it to achieve sustainable growth through long-term partnerships, a transparent and favorable business environment, and a forward-looking government vision that keeps pace with global transformations in the finance and investment sectors.

His Highness said in a blog post on the “X” platform: “I met with Bruce Flatt, CEO of Brookfield Asset Management and Alternative Investments Group, and we discussed ways to expand the horizons of cooperation, which contributes to creating and attracting qualitative and sustainable investment models, and transferring global expertise to the Emirates and Dubai.”

His Highness added: “Our strategic partnerships are not limited to achieving economic growth, but their impact extends to reshaping vital economic sectors and creating sustainable economic value that enhances our global competitiveness. The choice of international companies for Dubai reflects a consistent trend for investors searching for economic success, distinguished infrastructure, and an environment that supports innovation, because Dubai is the land of promising opportunities.”

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Mohammed bin Hadi Al Husseini, the Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, Hilal Saeed Al Marri, and the Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre, Issa Kazim.
