This came during the presidency of His Highness the Dubai Media Council meeting, as it was seen on the efforts of the Council during the last period in the context of the development strategy and the consecutive programs, projects and initiatives, aiming to advance the media sector in Dubai, and within all its paths, to a new stage of excellence.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed the importance of coordinating efforts to ensure that Dubai media is keeping pace with its global position and an active contribution to consolidating its leadership on the international scene, by adopting and activating all the necessary ingredients for that.
His Highness stressed the importance of enhancing the opportunities of the Emirati media and giving him the ingredients that guarantee him excellence, noting His Highness with the great positive impact of the Mohammed bin Rashid grant to Emirati media students, at the level of empowering the national cadre, especially young people, from possessing the tools, knowledge and skills necessary to expand his opportunities to participate in making authentic Emirati media content with an advanced global nature, as well as confirming his influential presence in the heart of the media scene at the local levels And the Arab.
The meeting witnessed the presentation of the outputs of the visit that Dubai Media Council recently organized to the employees of the media leadership program to the United Kingdom, and the positive results of the visit through communication with a group of the most important media institutions, experts and diplomats.
His Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Murri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, explained that the visits and external programs of the Council support the targets of media development by seeing the best global practices, noting that the visit allowed the employees of the media leadership program to meet government officials and experts in major international media institutions such as Google, Finnashal Times, and Sky News, The Thompson Foundation, where there were very fruitful discussions and were a successful prelude to further cooperation in the next stage.
The meeting discussed the developments of the development process for the “Dubai Media Foundation”, where His Excellency Mona Al -Murri explained that the efforts made in this context are proceeding according to a comprehensive strategy, and has resulted in many positive results, stressing the continued adoption of steps that would achieve the target of the institution from new levels of excellence in providing competitive content with international standards.
During the meeting, the developments related to the Mohammed bin Rashid grant for Emirati media students, which was recently announced, were reviewed that the acceptance door for its third session for the academic year 2025-2026 was opened.
His Excellency Nihal Badri, Secretary -General of the Dubai Media Council, pointed out to the targets of developing the grant program, the most important of which is the expansion of its scope to include distinguished international universities in the field of media science, as well as starting to qualify young people from an early stage, specifically school students before their enrollment in university study, to enhance their awareness of the media work and the ingredients that he nominates to choose it as a field of work in the future, noting that the scholarship integrates in its impact with its impact The council’s initiatives aimed at creating the field for young people and enabling them to reach appropriate job opportunities.
Her Excellency emphasized that young people represent the essence of Dubai media development plans because they are the most close to the elements affecting the formation of the new media features, foremost of which is the new technologies that accompanied the rapid technological development, pointing at the same time to the extensive efforts made by the Council to build and document the bridges of cooperation with media institutions around the world, as well as government contacts with leading experiences, to gain knowledge and experiences that pave the way to discover new opportunities that support Dubai media development targets.
The meeting discussed the desired goals of the Mohammed bin Rashid grant program for Emirati media students to consolidate its positive impact in pushing more Emirati cadres to the various fields of media work, not only at the level of Dubai media, but also to enhance the opportunities of Emirati media in Arab and international media institutions, in confirmation of the council’s efforts in the field of youth support, which represents one of the main axes of its strategy.
