Saudi companies expecting clean energy projects at 8.3 billion dollars

The Saudi Press Agency reported that several Saudi companies, including the giant Aqua Power, in the utility sector and one of the Saudi Oil giant Aramco companies, signed agreements to purchase energy for clean energy projects with a capacity of 15 gigabytes and investments amounting to about 8.3 billion dollars.
The agency added that Aqua Power signed seven agreements as the main developer in partnership with the water and electricity company (alternative) owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund and Aramco Energy of Saudi Aramco.
The projects include five solar photovoltaic energy stations in the areas of Asir, Madinah, Makkah and Riyadh, in addition to two wind energy projects in the Riyadh region.
The agency said that the projects are “the Bisha project in the Asir region with a capacity of 3000 megawatts … and the Hamij project in the Madinah region with a capacity of 3000 megawatts … and the Khulais project in the Makkah Al -Mukarramah region with a capacity of 2000 megawatts … and the Afif 1 project in the Riyadh region with a capacity of 2000 megawatts … and the Afif 2 project in the Riyadh region with a capacity of 2000 megawatts.”
The agency added, “Wind Energy Projects include a curtain project in the Riyadh region with a capacity of 2000 megawatts … and a blonde project in the Riyadh region with a capacity of 1000 megawatts,” the agency added.
The Kingdom previously said it is seeking to build up to 130 GB of renewable energy by 2030.
