Sharjah culture launches the Arab Poetry Forum in Senegal

Sharjah, July 21 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the activities of the fourth session of the Arab Poetry Forum organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs in the Culture Department in Sharjah were launched yesterday in the Republic of Senegal, and with the participation of 20 poets and poets from various regions of the country.
This cultural event comes in a translation of the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, which aims to support the Arabic language and enhance the presence of Arab poetry in the African continent as a bridge of cultural communication and a platform for discovering poetic energies and refining its creativity. The forum also embodies the Sharjah cultural vision that stems from the deep belief in the importance of culture in building man and strengthening the bonds of human convergence between peoples.
The forum was held at the Senegal Literary Club in the capital, Dakar, in the presence of Fadel Guy, President of the Senegal Literary Club, as well as a number of Arab diplomats, university professors, institutes, students and lovers of Arab poetry and its connoisseurs.
Fadel Guy expressed his pride in embracing this distinctive literary event, especially as it comes from the capital of Sharjah culture, praising the participating poets and the high -end texts they presented, stressing that the continuation of these initiatives is launched with strategic cultural partnerships such as the founding of Sharjah, which had the basic role in the success of this forum.
