The 3 World Media Media Forum concludes his work

Shosha (Azerbaijan) on July 21/ WAM/ The third global media forum of Shosha concluded its work today, “Monday” with extensive discussion sessions that focused on the axes of “digital transformations: enhancing information and media flexibility in the era of artificial intelligence” and “Media literacy as a guarantee of information security”, in addition to the role of the press in the era of artificial intelligence.

The speakers confirmed during the sessions that the media culture is not limited to receiving information, but also extends to its evaluation and verifying its credibility and source.
The speakers noted the need to rely on various and reliable sources, warning of the existence of news platforms that do not adhere to the principles of accuracy and reliability, which leads to the spread of false news that manipulates public opinion, noting that media education is the only way to address such news and to provide those around the right information, and to consciously use social media in this regard.

The speakers pointed out that the media culture enables society to think critical thinking that individuals should not accept what they hear and read immediately, but they have to evaluate it accurately and described the media as not just a way to transfer information, but rather has a leadership role in shaping public opinion.

Participants stressed the necessity of providing a sound media environment in society while promoting educational work and spreading media culture among all its segments, stressing the importance of exchanging the latest technological ideas as well as international cooperation with media representatives.

The speakers urged the need for journalists to verify the information they provide to society and transfer it properly, stressing that one of the main tasks of the media instilled critical thinking in society.

In a related context, the participating experts said that the facts presented by artificial intelligence programs such as Chatgpt and others need to be scrutinized and should not be taken as they are, but must be sure of their credibility and reliability and that “journalists should work to enable the public to distinguish between the facts and lies for the safety of societies.
