المملكة: To raise its efficiency by 30%.. Launching a qualitative project to develop coffee trees cultivation
The spokesperson for the “Saudi countryside” program, Majid Al -Braikan, explained that the project includes accurate stages, starting from choosing genetic samples, and ends with the achievement of the target and the production of seedlings.
He indicated that (6) samples of selected genetic structures were supplied from album trees in the regions of Jizan, Asir, Al -Baha, and the germination of (17) thousand of the physical embryos of the milk, in addition to (4) thousand of the coffee plants in the root phase, and (1,200) plants were transferred to the weaning house, in addition to the presence of (400) seedlings in the phase.
He added that the project has completed the import and installation of the “bioreacter” growth device for the tissue transplant plant; To reduce the numbers of employment and increase productivity, as it aims to reach the production of (50) thousand seedlings by the end of this year.
Tissue transplantation for coffee trees
Al -Braikan emphasized that the tissue transplant project for milk trees achieved many concrete results, as the 82 genetic patterns chosen in advance were re -evaluated, and merged them into (12) genetic groups, with water on the aspects of the morphological similarity between them.
The production of seedlings was also started in the mind of selected genetic patterns, and (1000) minds were planted to produce (1000) well -known seedlings, in addition to developing disease -resistant varieties, and are able to tolerate dehydration, in addition to preparing (14) cognitive products on good agricultural techniques and practices; To develop and raise their productivity.
In addition, Al -Braikan indicated that within the framework of this project, the technical review of the milk cultivation guide has been completed, and the preparation of the “Book of Lin Resources” as a major reference for the production of milk and the management of post -harvest operations in the Kingdom.
Training and qualifying farmers
(4) internal and external tours were organized, in which more than (109) farmers participated, which included experimental, guidance and cooperative fields; To learn about modern practices and technologies, transfer and apply them in their farms, in addition to organizing workshops, and scientific seminars for training and qualification of farmers and stakeholders, which included more than (200) farms.
Participation in many conferences, forums, and international exhibitions related to the Al -Banah Sector; To exchange knowledge and experiences, and to find out the developments of the sector.
