Starting with August .. Trump imposes 25% customs duties on India

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that imports from India will undergo customs duties by 25% as of August 1, indicating that a “fine” will be added to buy Russian oil.
“We are not dealt with a lot with them because their customs recognition are among the highest in the world, and their non -customs barriers are the most fatigue and hatred,” Trump said on his social platform Truth Suosal.
“We have a huge trade deficit with India!”
He added that India also “buys the majority of its military equipment from Russia and is alongside China the largest buyer of Russian oil, while everyone wants Russia to stop killing in Ukraine.”

American customs duties

This is justified in the eyes of Trump, the imposition of a “fine” that will be added to the 25%, without clarifying its details, and will also come into effect on the first of August.

These new customs recognition bear a symbolic reduction in one percentage compared to 26% imposed on India at the beginning of April, when the US President announced fees he described as “mutual”.
Trump had indicated on Tuesday that customs duties on “India” products had ranged between 20 and 25%, but added that reaching an agreement is still possible.

American agricultural products

New Delhi and Washington have been negotiating for several months on a trade agreement, but they have not reached results yet, with India’s unwillingness to open its entire market to American agricultural products.
The customs duties announced by the US President at the beginning of last April were initially postponed for 90 days until the beginning of July, before being postponed again until the first of August.
This time, Donald Trump stressed in his post that no other delay was granted and that the additional fees will enter into force.
