Korea exports growth by 5.9 % on an annual basis

Seoul on August 1/ WAM/ The Republic of Korea’s exports increased by 5.9%on an annual basis last July, compared to the year 2024 thanks to the strong global demand for semiconductors, according to government data issued today.
And the data of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korean, that the value of the issued shipments amounted to 60.8 billion US dollars last month, which is its highest number ever registered in July.
Imports increased by 0.7% on an annual basis to reach 54.2 billion dollars, which led to a trade surplus of $ 6.61 billion.
Semiconductor exports jumped by 31.6% on an annual basis to reach 14.71 billion dollars, recording the highest level ever in July, and car shipments increased by 8.8% to reach 5.83 billion dollars, and ship exports increased by 107.6% on an annual basis to reach 2.24 billion US dollars, recording the fifth consecutive month of the increase on an annual basis.
On the other hand, the shipments of petroleum and petrochemical products decreased by 6.3% and 10.1% to reach 4.21 billion dollars and $ 3.75 billion, respectively.
