Trump nominates 4 people to head the Federal Reserve, succeeding Powell

Jerome Powell ends the current president of the Federal Reserve, which raises the anger of the US President for his refusal to reduce interest rates, in May 2026.
When Trump was asked about Khalaf Powell in a telephone conversation with the CNBC channel on Tuesday, he said: “Both (Kevin Haysit, Kevin Warsh) are excellent.”
He was referring to Haysit, his current economist, and Warsh, who served as a member of the Federal Reserve Council between 2006 and 2011 after he was a consultant for Republican President George W. Bush.
He added: “I have two other names that I perform good” without going into the details.
Excluding the Minister of Treasury
The US President indicated that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is not among the candidates, and he said: “I will exclude him from the list, because he does not want the position, and it is preferable to be the cabinet minister.”
Before replacing the current Federal Reserve, there is another opportunity to nominate Trump with Adriana Koger’s resignation from the Reserve Council announced on the first of August.
The American president has an opportunity to appoint a new member of the committee that determines interest rates.
Republican President Jerome Powell constantly attacks, noting that he is “very slow” in reducing interest rates.
Trump believes that Khalaf’s choice of a strategic step is at a time when the customs war launched by economic prospects are blurry.
