357.2 million dirhams tax dues as a result of the “Federal Taxes” seizures

During the current year, the Federal Tax Authority intensified its supervisory efforts to implement its inspection campaigns in the state markets, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, to enhance tax compliance and protect consumer rights and combat tax evasion, to ensure commitment to legislation and tax procedures.

During the first half of the year, the inspection teams affiliated with the authority implemented 85.5 thousand inspection visits in the local markets in all the emirates of the state, recording a growth of up to 110.7% compared to the first half of the year 2024, during which it implemented about 40.58 thousand field visits.

The authority explained that the total value of tax dues and fines related to selective commodities, which were seized during the inspection field visits, amounted to 357.22 million dirhams, compared to 191.75 million dirhams during the same period in 2024, an increase of 86.29%.

The authority pointed out that the inspection field visits implemented on the selective tax, during the first half of 2025, during which more than 17.6 million cans were seized and a violation of selective commodities, while 7.2 million boxes and a violating pups were seized during the first half of 2024, an increase of 144.44%.

11.52 million cans of violating tobacco products that do not carry the “digital tax stamps” are not registered with the electronic system of the authority, equivalent to more than twice the violating tobacco products that were seized during the same period last year, where 5.52 million cans of tobacco were seized with an increase of 108.7%.

The authority revealed the seizure of 6.1 million absurds from other selective commodities, which include soft drinks, energy drinks and informed drinks, equivalent to more than 3.5 times what was seized during the first six months of 2024, where 1.74 million packages were seized other selective commodities, which are violating an increase of more than 250%.

The Executive Director of the tax compliance sector at the Federal Tax Authority, Sarah Al -Habashi, stressed that the authority intensifies its supervisory efforts to follow up the commitment of those subject to tax legislation and tax procedures in all their transactions, and combat tax evasion, and also aims to protect consumers from leaking products subject to tax that does not conform to the quality standards approved to the state markets.
