"Kuwait Petroleum" Announces a precautionary reduction in oil production and refining
KUWAIT, 7 March / WAM / The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced the implementation of a precautionary reduction in crude oil production and refining operations, in light of the repeated and sinful attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the State of Kuwait, and the accompanying Iranian threats targeting the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
This decisive move comes as part of the organization’s approved strategy to manage risks and ensure business continuity in light of the current tensions.
The Corporation confirmed, in a statement reported by the Kuwait News Agency on Saturday, that this amendment represents a purely precautionary measure that will be subject to continuous review as the situation develops.
The Corporation reassured public opinion that all the needs of the local market remain fully secured in accordance with established plans, stressing at the same time its full readiness to restore normal production levels whenever circumstances permit.
At the conclusion of its statement, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation renewed its firm commitment to putting the safety of all workers at its top priority, and its constant keenness to protect Kuwait’s national wealth, in addition to its role in enhancing stability in global energy markets, indicating that it will transparently announce any future updates as necessary.
